What is Pool Testing and Where can it be Used ?

Number of Positive cases are Increasing Exponentially in India, this dosen't provide any Good signs to the table for Lockdown 2.0, atleast in it's Initial phase it don't. As it seems Mass Testing is the only option for now, India has been Accelerating it's Testing capacities since the start of the Pandemic to deal with the Outrage caused. Indian Council of Medical Research(ICMR) has an ambition of testing 1,00,000 samples a day whereas the current Infrastructure supports testing of 16,000-18,000 samples each day.

Testing of multiple suspected Corona virus patients through Reverse Transcription Polymerase Chain Reaction(RT PCR) is known as Pool Testing. RT PCR is the same method as which is used for Individual Testing as well. Samples of a batch with 2 or more people are tested through the same kit, if the batch result came to be Positive, each and every Individual from that batch would be checked seperately and If the batch came to be Negative, there is no need for futher scrutiny. ICMR told, 'It dosen't Support Testing of more than 5 People in each batch'.

For Example : 100 People are Divided into Batches of 5 people each, 20 Batches in total. Not every Individual would be checked from those batches but a Combined Sample would be examined, if the sample came to be Positive, All of the 5 people from that batch would be checked seperately for the corona, If the batch came to be Negative, then there is no need for futher Examination.

This Method has it's own Advantages and Drawbacks According to ICMR respectively :

1) Proper Utilisation of Resouces - In a Country with a Population of over 1.3 Billion, each and every Testing Kit is Important and with Pool Testing it is expected to Optimize Resources. ICMR expects to save 3/4 testing kits if this method is conducted throughout.

2) Cost Effective - For now India is not Producing Significant number of Testing Kits by Itself, most of the kits used here are Imported through different Nations hence Increasing the Cost as well as Dependability. Pool testing would be a major role player in bringing the Cost Down.

3) Manpower : The Less the Manpower Involved the better chances of their survival as all are prone to the Disease equally be it Doctors, Nurses or Sanitary Staff. Pool Testing will bring down the number of Manpower needed in the process.

Not Everything is in the favour of Pool Testing, Here is what ICMR has to say on the Drawbacks :

1) Pool Testing cannot be used in Regions where the number of Total Positive cases against the Total number of Individual Tested is above 2%.

For Example : If the Total Number of Individuals Tested in a State or Region is 100 and Number of Positives among them came to be 2 or over 2 People, then this method is not Applicable according to ICMR. The Efficiency and Effectiveness of this Process Diminishes in the Regions where the number of Positives are Critical

In more Simpler Sense,
States having Number of Positives/Total Number of Tested as above 2% shall not Conduct Pool Testing.

People's Bank Of China(PBoC) now holds 1.01% stake in the Housing Development Finance Corporation(HDFC).

                  A RED WARNING FOR INDIA!

HDFC (Housing Development Finance Corporation), the biggest Private Sector Bank in India by Market Capitalisation as of March, 2020. It is also at the apex of House Financing structure in the country by Assests, HDFC Bank is one of the many subsidiaries by HDFC Limited. HDFC Life, HDFC Pension, HDFC Mutual Fund, HDFC Credila are some of the other Holding of the Company. Being a significant player in the Housing Mortgage Lending Sector in India it attracts many Individual Investors and AMC's (Asset Management Companies) from across the globe.

Whereas the People's Bank of China(PBoC), the Central Bank for the Chinese Government is the strongest Bank in the world since 2017 in terms of Asset to Liability Ratio therefore it is quite obvious for the Chinese Economy to be decently firm and growing as well.

Recently, PBoC bought 0.21% stake in the HDFC Limited between January to March resulting their total to 1.01% as they already had 0.80% stake of the ownership. They purchased 1.75 Crore Shares of the Corporation in this session. Major Financial Institutions of China are aggressively spectating the Market for any vital signs of Growth and Fall, as an Opportunity for Investment Or Withdrawal. The People's Bank of China isn't the only Foreign Entity to Invest into HDFC, The Government of Singapore has 3.23% stakeholdings whereas EuroPacific Growth Fund has 1.09% as well.

Note : A Company has to reviel it's Stakeholdings in any Foreign Entity if they anyhow increase to or above 1% for every Quarter. (January to March)

China bought record volume of Crude Oil from Russia as the European Market crashes amid COVID hence pulling the rates to abnormal levels. The Government of China has been maintaining less rivalry in the phase of Corona mixed with aggressive Buying Behaviour across the Globe, It has shot up it's Investing activities only when the Global Economy is at it's worst. Italy, Spain and Germany some among the worst hit nations have introduced certain Laws to protect their Economies from Future Hostile Takeovers (i.e., When a Countries Economy has been overtaken by a Foreign Entity by Capital Investments). They said, These Laws will now cover a wider range of sectors such as, Banking, Health, Infrastructure, Insurance and Energy for prospects who are looking to Invest upto or over 10% Stake into the Organisation.

Certain Question arises here are :

1) How was the Chinese Government so well Prepared for Investing when the Global Economy is going into deep Recession ?

2) Did they knew Everything and Is Economic takeover their Strategy to Slave the World ?

3) What should India do at this stage ?

4) Should India Establish more Rigid Policies and Laws like Italy for (FDI) Foreign Direct Investments ?

India Should Act before It's too Late.

What shall India learn from Lockdown of Nations like China & HongKong ? How many days are atleast needed to contain the Virus ?

The Indian Lockdown of 21 Days almost came onto it's verge of completion, It commenced on March 24th Midnight and is supposed to end on 14th of April. The Goal was to contain the spread of the Virus and eliminating it completely if possible through the implementation of certain specific measures like Self Isolation and Social Distancing. India responded quite in time to the Pandemic as there was already much to learn from other Countries experience facing the deadly issues amid COVID19 way before us and also because India realised the severity of the matter sincerely.

Certain Internal Drawbacks uplifted the constraints within the Nation by pouring some additional supporting problem's. Mass Exodus of Labourers/Daily Wagers at Unprecedented levels was Alarming for the Authorities as well as the Citizen's Observing. For the little to be left was the Incident of Tablighi Jamatis at Hazarat Nizamuddin in Delhi, within 2-3 days of the event the number of Infection grew to double. India was fighting an Internal Communal War along with COVID19, still, there was much to be done than just a Lockdown.

Here I'll be sharing what India learned from Other Countries like China & Hong Kong who were pretty Efficient and Responsive in tackling the Virus then we'll be discussing the Data and the Analytics provided by The University of Cambridge for the most potential way of dealing with the Chinese Virus.

China began it's Lockdown in the Hubei Province of China on 22nd january and was lifted on 24th march. The reason for halt in the Lockdown was that the Chinese Government found Zero New cases during the latter 4 days.

Soon after lifting the ban China was encountering a strange problematic situation again, 1541 Asymptomatic (i.e., When the Patient has Zero Symptoms of the Disease) cases were reported amid concerns of the second wave of Infections. It was clear that the Herd Immunity (i.e., When a cluster of Individuals has developed the Immunity to fight the Disease/Immunity to overcome Community Transmission) wasn't there and people are still prone to the Virus with a greater sense of danger as they lacked the symptoms which is crucial in scrutiny of the suspected.

Hong Kong was one of the very few Nations that took prompt actions regarding the Interest of it's Citizens. At the beginning of february itself the Lockdown came into existence, till that time Hong Kong didn't had any cases reported, even till 20th of march cases were significantly few.

A Research that was followed by, Prof. Rajesh Singh and Prof. R. Adhikari from the Department of Applied Maths & Theoretical Physics at The University of Cambridge, London said, The following 4 Patterns could be undertaken for the purpose of relaxation :

1) Resurgence : A Lockdown of 21 Days, after that the cases will immediately shoot up. This is the current scenario which was implemented on 24th March.

2) Resurgence (Part 2) : A Lockdown Of 21 Days followed by a relaxation of 5 Days, then again a Lockdown of 28 Days. The cases will decrease during Lockdown but will soon diminish the progress achieved.

3) The Longest of All : A Lockdown of 21 Days followed by 5 Days of relaxation, then 28 Days of Lockdown followed by yet again a relaxation of 5 Days, at last, A Lockdown of 18 Days in the end. According to the Research, this method would bring the cases down to 10 cases per day, though it would mark the calender by 9th of June when completed.

Last but not the worst.

4) Most Optimum : A Lockdown of 49 Days in continuation with the current Lockdown, this methodology would by far be the best according to the Researchers, if Applied.

It is not possible to test 130 Crore Individuals for now, Lockdown is the only option, It added.

Industries Blooming amid Lockdown while Others Struggle to Survive!

India pleaged the Goal of achieving a Five Trillion Dollar Economy by the end of the 2024 Presidential Campaign under the guidance of Shri Narendra Modiji, each & every aspect of the Economy was ready to yeild required results for the mentioned fact. The GDP (i.e., Gross Domestic Product) was slow but yet in favour of the country as we were leading the race among the Devloping Nations.

Then came the Chinese Virus which put a halt on the World and every Country was forced to Shutdown its Operations be it in any Respect. Trade Tensions between nations were already on the peak while China gave a not so favourable incidence to the world and this lead to a disaster for the Economy especially.

Now it was India's turn to face the Pandemic and with it came 3 patients from China to the Indian State of Kerela, which then became the Epicenter for the early days in India, it spread like a wave throughout the country and in no time India was under a Nationwide Lockdown and even Curfew like situation were imposed upon states like Maharashtra.

As Lockdown was the only option to Prevent the Disease from Spreading most of the Industries, Factories, Offices, Educational Institutions and Unrelevant Government Authorities were closed Permanently for the time being. Due to this the Economy had to bear Immense losses and even had to ask its Manforce to quit their jobs for a unknown period of time. Sector which overlooked the worst impact were :

1) Real Estate - As Social Distancing Norms took over in a flick, Physical Interaction became a complete Turndown for people as it needs well Co-ordination between the parties involved and interested in Real Estate, Time management too plays a significant role here, all this is not possible from the Lockdown point of view. Seller, Buyer, Brokers, Agents and Accountants were directly hit by the scenerio.

2) Travell & Accomodation - It was Clearly Understood that none would risk their Lives and get on to the way for any Round trips amid the Terrific situation. Weekend getaways were dismissed and travel bans were imposed to save life's , logistics were hard hit by the situation and so was accomodates. Advance Bookings for both were to be Refunded to maintain the Goodwill of the Industry and the Establishment Itself. Chances of new bookings were few and risky as the virus was transmitted through Human to Human Interaction, all related parties went to collapse such as Brokers, Agents, Staff, Drivers, Chefs, Entertainers & Owners themselves.

3) Restaurants, Bars & Movie Theatre - All sorts of Non essentials be it Goods or Services were closed Permanently to avoid Unnecessary spaces for the Contamination. Restaurants & Other Food Catering Services (Street Food & Dhabas) are the main source of Income for many Cities and Localities, Extravagant and exotic cuisines play as the center of Attraction for Tourists in many regions, as these places gather an adequate number of people including familes as well as Individuals of all ages from Adults to Children, It wasn't the best Decision to keep them Operational in the mist of COVID, hence shut. Bars served as the perfect Hotspot for ample party gatherings where people of all sorts joins to have a delightful phase which would hamper the laws of Social Distancing therefore closed. Movie Theatre's have a structure where people are meant to reside closely in contact beside each other and this would lead to a perfect platform for the disease to escalate at never before seen levels, hence authorities put a halt on such grounds immediately.

4) Malls, Museum's & Tourist Attractions - Each and every place which gatheres numerous Individual for the purpose of Advertising, which futher leads to the Inter Exchange of Activities between the Buyer and Seller (i.e., Buying and Selling) was one of the most deadly tacts through which the virus could be transferred as Malls and Supermarkets attract visitor from all over the Globe not only for Commodity related services but also as an Attraction (window shoppers) point. Museum's render as the perfect link for visitors' to fullfil their lust for Knowledge and Valuable Historical Artifact's, Annually millions of Interested tourists visit these domains creating a tensed environment for Social Distancing norms thereby increasing the risk of Casualties if were not suspended within time. Not only Museum's but several other Sight seeing attraction were imposed of the ban as they too usually have seasonal gathering creating a high-risk situation leading to mass contamination. The worst part about this is the Dependability of other Businesses on the these vital Hotspots, Ticket Vendors, Food Caters, Tourist Guides and Linguistics are just some of the Direct as well as Indirect Dependents to name a few though, so they bear the harsh & direct effect of the Pandemic. All these areas are closed without any further notice to resume any time soon.

5) Music Festivals & Cultural Heritage Event - Sunburn Goa to Miami Music Fest, Ultra Music Festival to Tomorrowland, La Tomatina in Spain to Carnival of Brazil, All kinds/sorts of Cultural and Entertainment events were banned permanently in the view of the Pandemic, The Question arises here is, Will people ever have the Appetite for these kinds of events where magnificent groups of people come together ever again in the near Future ? All these events create a massive platform for day to day Employement activities, they hire Individuals on a Daily Wage basis which further leads to fullfilling their basic commodities. Indirectly Dependents to have a role here, they earn with the seasonal crowd and relate to these activities on a internal level, Food Vendors, Booking Firms and Cheap Accomodation are the worse hit sectors by any perspective. It is to be seen how do these sectors cope up with the challenges given by the situation in the coming days.

The Economically Unprivileged Section of the Society (i.e., Under the Poverty Line) and The Lower Middle Class (i.e., Just above the poverty line) had always faced the most Burden due to Insufficient funds in regard to Inflation which when coupled with the Epidemic brings them on the verge of Collapse in Financial terms as well as mental wellness. Daily Wager was in the ocean of troubles.

Gyms and Sporting Facilities ran out of people as Social Distancing & Self Quarantine took over the world in the blink of an eye. Close Contact became a absolute NO-NO which cannot be guaranteed in the gym therefore Closed.

Sporting Events such as NBA, NFL and IPL were suspended. Tokyo Olympics were postponed till 2021.

On March 11th, NBA suspended the Season when one Utah Jazz Player, Rudy Gobert was convicted of the disease, It then felt like a dramatic move untill on March 16th NBA posted a total of 14 Positive COVID-19 Cases.

6) Weddings and Funerals are worth a Billion Dollar Industry, though almost opposite in Perspective, where the former could be postponed while the latter cannot be by human will, they provide a massive Employement chain among the various sections of the society as Food Catering Services, Decorators, Event Planners, Musicians, General Catering Service, Sanitary Staff, Lighting Experts, Beauty Services, Artists, Managers and Supervisors as well, all of this accompanied with Travel and Accomodation provide a humongous pool of opportunities for the Varied and Skilled section of the society, Respective Government Officials ordered the Citizens to Postpone any such non vital Events and forthcomings, for the Death scenerio not more than 10 Individuals would be allowed while maintaining 1 metre in distance between two people.

Further added, Hoarding of Supplies is a Disaster in itself, The Government of India again and again by gazette notification are informing people to not Hoard Supplies & that every essential will be provided in Immense popularity till needed to be, every sort of mesaures would be undertaken by the Government to fullfill each and every necessities of it's Citizens. Unnecessary Hoarding will lead to the Shortage of Supplies further Increasing the Inflationary of Commodities & Services.

While almost everything was Deteriorating due to the Insidious effects of the disease few sectors were booming as they brought the need of the hour to the Masses, these were :

1) Medical Infrastructure - Doctor's and Medics were always considered as God's in Human Skin, they hold the Hopes & Trust of people like no other and so proving their all mighty again they were engaging in 24×7 shifts without considering much troubles. Medical staff came all ready with everything they have in themselves. Treating, Observing and Responding immediately was there mantra, the world was dependent upon them for their Survival and soo were they on the Precautions undertaken by the people. The Well-being of the Pharmaceuticals Industry was the need for every Citizen, Research and Development carried on with full Potential as a Vaccine is looked upon as the most potent Cure. In a fortnight's time Masks, Gloves, Alcohol based Hand Sanitizers were facing never before seen Demands from every corner of the world, Government told the related Industries to ramp up their Production to Full Fledged Capacities and even ordered Officials to check if more Personal Health Care Companies can help in Increasing the Production of such Goods and Commodities by increasing their Research & Development Activities. Brands like Dettol, ITC, Nycil, Cipla, Bharat Biotech and Mankind initiated working on 100% of their capacities to meet the requirements. Hospitality, Municipal and Sanitary Staff are indulging through Day and Night Shifts as Sanitization was the ultimate Priority be it in the Hospitals, Clinics, Colonies or Office's. Hospital Beds and Ventilators were setup not only in the Hospital premises but also in Facilities where they could be Installed accordingly and have the Infrastructure to support them. Medical Equipments were more important than they ever would have been in the past and soo were Medical Staff. (I request every Individual reading this Article to support our Medical Teams by any means, not only financially but any humane way, who are working blood and sweat for our well-being)

2) Telecommunication & Internet - What would happen if this Epidemic came in the early 90's ? The majority would be Depressed, Internal Communal War's would have taken the Perspective and Time management would have became a trouble for the masses but lucky we are to be living in the era of Digital Revolution and having Sufficient Infrastructure to support the Internet as well as the Telecommunication Network. Where Self Isolation is the only way out of the Contagious Disease almost all Human activites have taken a halt, Human is considered to be a Social Animal, we tend to Socialize to live Healthy, without Human Interaction life would be a Pain. Telecom have provided us to eliminate certain challenges we would be encountering if we didn't had one, 'We are One, We are Connected', Important Updates through News and Social Media is at the tip of our fingers, Overtime the Networks have improved through leaps and bounds, we all live in the 4th Generation (4G) of Networking, Cellular Data speeds have Improved altogether and Time Management is much easier than ever. The Internet has us connect at any given point of time and with the Competition getting cutthroat Telecom magnet like Jio changed the Market Trends, Cheaper Internet to each and every Individual. Internet Streaming Services are way Convenient and Affordable, Netflix (One of the Biggest Disruptors of 21st Century), Amazon Prime and Disney+ are some of them to name a few, these provide Unlimited access to the Trending Online Entertainment at the convenience of each Individual. Not only Entertainment but Workloads have also changed Dramatically, Internet provides the comfort of Working from Homes. Sending Mails, Scanning of Documents, Conveying a Presentation through Online Video Conferencing (Zoom, Skype and GoogleCast), Digital Payments (GooglePay, PhonePe, Amazon Money) and Live Observations are a little to be mentioned Advantages here.

An already Crowded sector, Online Gaming became the Hype amid Lockdown and Virtual Reality Gadgets were used more frequently than ever as Gaming Enthusiasts and the Techno Driven majority were left with loads of free time in their hands. Online games like PUBG, Fortnight, Call of Duty are enjoying great Server loads and In-App Purchase these days.

Cloud Storages have given way to new ways of Storing and Analysing data from anywhere at anytime, no hefty and bulky Physical storages needed. Cloud Computing is the requirement of the Digital Era, Brands like Amazon (AWS - Amazon Web Services), Adobe, Microsoft, Google (Google Cloud) are into the Cloud Computing & Storage Business since forever. Updating Softwares are seamless and Offer Quality Troubleshooting if needed.

Door-Step Delivery Servies saw an Immediate hike in demand for Manpower, Amazon's CEO, Jeff Bezos urged for an immediate Recruitment for 1,00,000 Employee's for their FC (Fullfillment Center's). Groceries became the new luxury as necessities took over everything for the time being, Amazon bought Whole Foods and promoted the benefits of eating Healthy.

Indoor Fitness Activities and Indoor Games both became vulnerable to Self Quarantine norms, each sector saw an ample opportunity to prosper as Fitness and Indoor Games were on the Optimistic side of the trouble. The Sector was facing a shoot in the demand, Yoga Mats, Home Gyming Equipments, Tredmills and even Personal Fitness Training Programs were required by the masses. Sport Equipments such as Board Games, Puzzles, Badmindon and Cricket are getting Increasingly Popular.

Note : It's a Crazy Time to be Alive.

COVID-19 & The Indian Economic Measures.

Amid the Corona Crisis the world is facing right now, all sorts of measures be it Economical, Demographical, Geographical and ofcourse Medical have been thought and implemented as soon as possible to restrict the impact of the pandemic. Even though the virus is an unprecedented one, still this is not the first one to be seen by humanity but it is expected to be one of the most deadly of them. The stats show that over 10,00,000 people have been infected worldwide as on 2Apr' 2020 and almost 53k have died, these numbers are terrifying for a disease which just came into existence less than 4 months ago.

Respective Governments and Authorities in-charge are taking each and every step which can mitigate the losses in any terms. The Indian Finance Minister, Nirmala Sitharaman announced on Thrusday, almost 36hours after the Nationwide Lockdown began, an Economic Relief Package for the poor and unprivileged section of the soceity. The Indian Government wanted to address the issues of migrants who would be facing the worst impact of complete Nationwide lockdown as almost all the migrant labourers/workers earn on a daily basis to fulfill their basic needs. A Complete Nationwide lockdown which began on the 00:00hour of 25th March (Wednesday) resulted in a halt of activities which directly influenced the labour class and their stomach as well.

The Economic Relief Package was focused on bringing financial stability for a certain period of time or I would say in the times of the crisis. Finance Minister announced that they have come up with a relief package of Rs1.7 lakh crores, which will be distributed through different schemes & policies, It was further added that all the aid will be provided through DBT ( i.e, Direct Beneficiary Transfers ) which will mitigate any corrupt practices or so. Proceedings of the Package were as follows.,

1) A Health Cover Insurance of 50,00,000 per individual who is involved in medical assistance, such as Doctors, Paramedical Staff, Nurses, Helpers, ASHA workers, Sanitation Staff, Municipal Bodies, around 20 lakh people will be benefited from this scheme.
(Some even refered to these people as, 'God in White Clothes')

2) An additional of 5KG of Rice & Wheat per Individual over and above the existing limit for 3 months under Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Ann Yojna. (Around 80 crore individuals will be benefited, over 2/3 of the total population)

3) 1KG of locally preferred and avaliable pulses per household over and above the existing limit for 3 months.

4) Under the Kisaan Samman Nidhi scheme which provide an aid of 6000/Year, the first installment will be debited into the accounts in the first week of April itself. (Around 8.69 crore farmers are expected to benefit from it)

5) MGNREGA ( i.e., Mahatama Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act ) decided to increase it's daily wage from Rs182 to Rs202, this will increase the monthly wage by 2000.
(It is expected to benefit 5 crore families)

6) Under the PM Jandhan Yojana Scheme, 20crore women would be provided with Rs500 as an ex-gratia for the next 3 months for aiding them.

7) Individuals registered under the PM UJJWALA scheme will be provided free of cost cyclinder for the upcoming 3 months as just providing raw edibles would not be enough, the medium to cook is as necessary as the edibles are itself, 8crore families would be benefited by this. (All weaker sections of the society are expected to be benefitted from it)

8) Widow, Specially Abled & Poor Pensioners will be given an ex gratia of Rs1000 (Onetime) in 2 Installments.
(3crore poor senior citizen pensioners are expected to be benefited)

9) SHG (Self Help Groups) which includes 63,00,000 people would be provided collateral free loans, moreover the limit has been increased from 10lacs to 20lacs which will further impact 7crore households.

The Government also came up with some aids for the Organized Sector of the Society,

10) The EPFO (Employees' Provident Fund Organization) will contribute for both, the Employer(12%) as well as the Employee(12%) for the next 3months, this will be for those Establishments which have upto 100 employees out of which 90% of them earn less than 15,000/month.

11) EPFO will also allow the employees' to withdraw 75% of the amount contributed by them on the account of the contingency, this would be a non-refundable advance. Salary of 3months or 75% of the contribution, whichever is lower shall be payable.
( Beneficiaries would be 4.8crore workers )

12) According to the Central Government, Building & Construction Workers Welfare Department has about 31,000 crores of fund and 3.5 crore registered workers which shall be provided assistance on the orders of the government as and when needed.
